As well as ward councillor for Stanground Central, I am the Leader of Peterborough City Council and Deputy Chair of the Board of the East of England Development Agency (EEDA).

I was born in Peterborough in 1950, and attended Orton Longueville school and Peterborough Regional College.

My working life has been spent in both private business and public service.  In private business I have been able to build a very successful group of family business.  These businesses are as diverse as property development, renewable energy and child care.

I retired last year from the Chair of NHS Peterborough after 25 years of service. I was founder chair of the NHS Confederation, and a former member of the NHS Executive International Audit Development Group and the NHS Corporate Governance Advisory Panel.
