Marco Cereste launches Election Campaign

Marco Cereste has launched his campaign for re-election in Stanground Central by asking the voters in his ward to judge him on his record of achievement both in the ward and in Peterborough.   People can find out more on his new website: www.marcocereste.co.uk

Marco hopes the election will inspire people to think about the future of Stanground and the city and to get more involved in local democracy.

Marco said, “This is an important election.  Times are difficult for everyone at the moment and we all have to work harder than ever to make ends meet.  But Peterborough has such potential and we are starting to make things happen.  Our children have turned in record exam results for the last three years and crime is at its lowest level for many years.  Our city centre is attracting new restaurants and new shops and major companies are investing now to create jobs for the future across the city.

“But there is so much more we can do and I am always reminded by the people I meet in Stanground and across the city how important it is to make things better for everyone in their neighbourhood.  If I am re-elected that will continue to be my priority.  ”

Marco has been ward councillor in Stanground Central since 2007.   As ward councillor he has focused on listening to local people and addressing the issues that matter most to them.  Marco said, “Over recent months I have worked with local residents to sort out issues as diverse as faulty street lights, damage to walls caused by tree roots and resurfacing footpaths.”
